Mr Kgololo Mogotsi
Flute, Saxophone and Recorder Specialist,
as well as Piano, Theory Beginner and Pre-School MusicEd Teacher.

‘I started with formal recorder lessons at the age of five. Then I proceeded to formal flute lessons at the age of eighteen. I joined the Welcome Soweto School Of Music (WESSOM) where I eventually became the Director of the School from 2004 till 2007. I specialized in teaching flute, recorder, saxophone, vocals, and theory, as well as conducting the school’s orchestra. I started teaching flute and conducting both the projects choir and orchestra at ‘Thabang ka Mmino’ music project which is the music project for St Matthews Catholic School in 2005 till date. Besides teaching I also performed at various major events in and around Gauteng such as ‘Orchestra Rave!’

Since 2003 I have been involved with MIAGI, including acting as Director of Music Camps. From 2005 through 2007 I played flute in the Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of Pienaar Fourie. I started working for Melodi Music Trust from 2008 till date, teaching recorder in two public schools. I subsequently joined the Melodi Music Trust Ensemble where I had the opportunity to travel the world giving performances in various auditoriums and schools, including performing for the Lord Mayer of the town of Leeds (England) at a Christmas concert and also at the Royal Conservator (Hague) in Amsterdam. Besides my passion for music I also love teaching and working with children. I love composing my own music as well and am working on showcasing my songs with a debut album and a variety of shows. My favorite music styles (arrangement and performance) include Gospel, Instrumental and Rhythm and Blues.’
