Franscois Bezuidenhout is the Founder of the Phoenix Benedict brand and Principal of the Phoenix Benedict Music Academy. The Phoenix Benedict Music Education brand focuses on creative empowerment through skillful one-on-one tailor-made music tuition. Besides the Phoenix Benedict Music Academy (PBMA) the Phoenix Benedict Music Institute (PBMI) is also currently being facilitated with a launch date in early 2013.

Franscois was raised in a religious community where music played a vital role. At the age of nine Franscois was introduced to formal music tuition and excelled at both performance and theory. Writing songs from an early age, Franscois tapped into the powerful processes involved in improvisation, and in skillfully applying culturally based music codes. Always shining out in music activities and exams Franscois decided to focus on writing music. A number of his songs and music have subsequently been recorded, performed and broadcast locally as well as internationally.

Winner of numerous SAMRO Music Scholarships, and Wits Scholarships Franscois also competed against now-famous Kahn Morbee in a songwriting competition – and won! Franscois honed in on Music Education and qualified as an accredited Cambridge International Examinations teacher and have been lecturing in IGCSE Music, AS and A Level Music for the past 10 years.

Having obtained a Masters in Composition and Audio Branding, Franscois is currently doing research for a Ph.D. in Music and Branding, he also speaks at conferences, and often produces scores for TV and Film.

Franscois is passionate about authentic empowerment through music, and the potential of mentorship that can multiply accurate knowledge and unlock creative energy – especially through music.
